gelli Monoprints

A soft gel plate is used as a substrate for ink & acrylic work instead of paper or canvas.  Becuase it is soft it can used to capture the imprint and texture of physical objects such as plants and seaweed as part of the process. As these mask underlying areas, the image must be contructed in the negative, with foreground details created first.

When complete the media on the gel plate are transferred to single sheet of paper as a unique monoprint.
